Lloyd Moore

Lloyd Moore is a composer with a highly memorable and personal sense of invention matched by a vivid ear for sonorities and an outstanding feeling for instrumental technique. Lloyd has frequently been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Swiss Radio and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

Compositional successes have included Scherzino for piano (a BBC commission celebrating Mendelssohn's bicentenary), the large ensemble piece Divine Radiance (which Fiona Maddocks called “…an explosive, luscious piece in three sections, dense with fluttering, trilling, spiky writing contrasted with silky moments of calm.”), the orchestral piece Diabolus in Musica (“…a gripping musical vortex that takes hold of you and doesn’t let go” – Tom Service), Three Epigrams of Kathleen Raine for mezzo-soprano and ensemble (“engrossing” - Classical Source), and many more.
